Will I really need the space of the 120G ...

I'm going to buy an Xbox 360 but will I really need an HD that big? What would the average size be for an average gamer? Will I really need the space of the 120G ...
no you dont need 120 gb.

you buy the pro with 20gb. its the perfect size for the average gamer.

dont buy the arcade, 256mb is way too small. Will I really need the space of the 120G ...
Yes you will, i got the elite and the 20 standard gb are allready taken from arcade games and saves and dlc.
^ ok.... so what is the otrher 100gb being used for?

tell you the truth probably the only reason you used 20gb is becasue you have 120. i bet you never deleted any of your demos or crap youll never use again.
I've only had my 360 for a month and i've used up 17 gigs of my 120,glad i invested in the elite.
If you are going to be DLing a lot of game content - maps and so on - then get the Elite.20GB fills up fast when you start downloading expansion packs (Oblivion - 900MB) and maps (Halo 3 maps are around 400MB). The worst is when you want to rent a movie but have to delete stuff for it to fit.
Depends on what you want to do. If you are going to be downloading a lot of content, especially TV shows and Movies in HD, then yes you might want all that space. Otherwise for just games, the smaller HDD is fine.
If I was buying a 360 now (I got mine close to launch) I'd get an Elite. I'm seriously thinking about buying the standalone 120 GB HDD and upgrading. Whenever I download an HD movie from the marketplace (which is 6-7 GB) I literally have to delete half of the stuff on the usable 14 GB of my 20 GB drive. It's a bit ridiculous if you want to use your 360 as your primary entertainment hub like I do.If you're just going to be playing games and downloading demos, 20 GB is fine. However, once you start using the MP, you'll want to do more and that will probably include movies.Long story short, buy the Elite.
heres how it is 20 gb is if you just want games 120 is for tv shows and movies :)

Well, I bought all 4 seasons of Lost and that took up 87 GB. So, I'm real glad I got the 120.
I'm thinking about upgrading to the 120. I don't download any TV shows or movies really, but my space is quickly being eaten up by demos and DLC. I have DLC for Halo 2 and 3, Vegas 1 and 2, GRAW 1 and 2, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Rock Band and a few others. Then there's the game saves and saved movies from Halo 3 and Ace Combat 6. Games like Oblivion take up a couple mg per save.So I'm down to 4gb. With more DLC, that could run out quickly.
well its not the size that matters.its the sexiness.
20gb be perfect unless you gonnna be hardcore download all dlc have like 20 games with music on the hd all other junk
id go for it in case you need it. you really dont want to have to buy extra space do you
20 GB should be fine for most uses, as long as you're deleting demos and what not that you download. If you want to download TV/Movies and a lot of DLC, you'll probably want the 120GB eventually. If any worthwhile MMOs, or if you like FFXI, those can take up a lot of room.
Yes you will need the space if you are connected to xbox live. I currently have less than a gig left on my 20 gig drive. I have one video (animatrix) and no demos. I only have game content and arcade games. That gig free I have left could be used up with two more map packs. With extra content for gTA coming out, i'll probably be buying a new xbox. (No way in heck am I going to spend 180 for a 120 gig drive, that is silly)

i upgraded and just got the stand alone 120 GB HDD great investment i use my 360 as an entertainment hub as well
As previously said, 20GB is fine for most users. However I would recommend all new X-Box owners buy the elite system just ....well just because it's a bit more future proof. I bought my 360 at launch and believe I have about 3GB left..... So if I wanted to download another big X-Box original game I'd have to delete Ninja Gaiden or something. It's also possible Microsoft may take Sonys example of offering full fledged 360 games available for digital distribution. Of course since they offer systems without a HDD they would have to offer the game on discs as well, but it will always run better straight from the HDD (even though it's a measily 4200RPM drive).
