GTA4 is too dark??

hELLO Does any one else here thinks that gta4 is too dark??Im on a 52'' Hitachi HDTV.When i try changing the game's contrast and brightness settings, it just makes everything looks whiter, and some of the colors get lost.Anyone else having this problem?GTA4 is too dark??
its pretty dark in some situations... like at night in alley ways and such. just trying for that realistic feel i guess. i mean you cant see in unlight areas at night either.GTA4 is too dark??
For me it isn't too dark. I mean it can get dark but come dawn, evening or morning, but especially dawn the game looks perfect. I think they tried capturing that reflection-light-shadow effect with motion blur. It looks amazing, but I can see what you're saying.
I play on a 24'' monitor so I'm sitting pretty close, and I have low brightness wich means it gets extremely dark in unlit areas, nothing that bothers me though, since I am sitting so close I can see most things anyway, but ur never in a dark place for long so yeah... it doesn't bother me at all.

I have to agree with Shady. I actually have one of my tv settings setup so I can see dark games. If you have this option, I truely think it's worth the time.
I thought I was the only one that thought it was too dark too. Thankfully, I'm not. =]
Good post bro! I was having the same issues. I will try the display option, that should do the trick, good looking out shady.
Nope It's perfect on my 32''
Yeah it is dark even on the PS3 on that i have
Most game's actually have sort of an internal brightness setting. It's best to fiddle with that first before changing the brightness on your tv, as if it's fine for most game's turning the tv brightness up will make it too bright for other game's.Like i said press pause press right on the d-pad along to display and there's brightnss/contrast and saturation settings you can change.2-3 notches up on the brightness and it's fine, still dark enough thats it feels like night time but light enough to see the world.
It bothers me.I mean, this is like the first game i played in witch i had to modify my tv's brightness and contrast settings.Im going to try to connect the xbox 360 on the 27'' Insigna flat screen tv i have upstairs.I wonder if that'll do any difference. I might be loosing some details though since its not hd.

It has bothered me a lot. I think that the game is too dark for certain. When I turn the brightness up, the colors start looking a bit washed out. Oh well. You don't play a GTA game for the graphical appeal.
I agree, they should have tuned down the differences between darky and lighty areas. As is now, the darkness is too realistic, and like you say, turning it up makes everything too whitey. Perhaps a patch? Could easilly be fixed with a patch.
Guy i got some newsThe problem is in my 52'' hitachi hdtv , and NOT IN THE GAME.What i did is, i moved the xbox 360, to the 27'' insigna flat screen tv that i have upstairs, and the picture quality looked waaaaaay better, even on the default settings. The picture was very bright. Right now i have the feeling like this is how the game is SUPPOSE TO LOOK However, i did notice some slight blur because the tv is not hd.Honnestly, i think im going to leave the xbox 360 on the smaller tv permanently, till rockstar releases a patch or something.Anyone knows where i can find a good 27'' hdtv for less than 300 bucks?
I'm on a 73'' Mitsubishi DLP and sometimes it's a bit too dark on screen if there's too much ambient light in the living room to make it worse. The only real issue I had with extreme darkness actively ruining the experience was a ranked deathmatch when the host set it to midnight at the prison. You couldn't see the chain-link fences right in front of you.
