Why is GTA 4 soooooooooo long?

Me personally I dont mind a long I actually like longer games but wow is this game long. Im not complaining cause im not even done with the game and I cant wait for the downloadable episodes, but I am 60+ missions and 15+ hours in and it shows that Im only about 40% done, I just hope you dont have to get to 80% or 90% to complete the story cause its starting to feel like it.Why is GTA 4 soooooooooo long?

I don't care how long it takes to finish a game, aslong as it doesn't get bored.
jesus how do you do 60+ missions in 15 hours. my god
haha ive done like half the amount of missions in that time. mind you ive done a lot of side missions and screwing around :P but apparently youll have 68% upon completing the story missions which i heard there are 90 (or maybe that includes side missions.. .not sure). either way i hope this game never ends i love it!

I find it funny how you complain that the game is too long, imo games these days are too short and too easy to beat.

First you all cry about games being too short, now your saying they are getting too long? Appearently none of you can be pleased with anything and maybe you should stop playing games cause theirs never going to be a game thats perfect for everybody.

I have only done 13 missions and I have 9 hours of gameplay, and I thought that I was rushing. I guess I am not after reading your post.
with all the other gta games it says i'm only +/-50% done the game when i finish the story. there's just a lot of hidden and extra stuff.

lol Im about 9hrs in the game with around 15% completed. seems like you're rushing man. take your time
Got just over 50% with 20ish hours played. Also did the car delivery and other small things so I think I have a long way to go to be done with the main story.
Try reaching prestige 10 lvl 55 in COD4 and you'll find out what sooooooo long is all about. It makes the length of GTA4 look like chump change.
