If my videocard is fried, can I still be playing games? The reason I ask is because two days ago I turned on my Xbox360 and as always before it starts, there is this small flicker(it looks like static, you know what I mean) and then the Xbox360 starts up!I could hear the sound, but there was no picture! I turned it off and turned it on again and it started up with picture as usual!I have been playing for like 10 hours since then and it haven't happened since! Completed Devil May Cry 4 yesterday! Can I still play game if my videocard is fried. Because people keeps telling me, that since this has occurred once, my videocard is fried, but how can I then be playing games without problems? The thing is, has this happened to anyone else and do I have anything to worry about? I would really appreciate your help! Sorry for bad grammar, but english is not my first languageIf my videocard is fried, can I still be ...
If the engine in a car explodes, can you still drive the car?
this is a serious reply...
has this happened to anyone else?
I agree that is a serious reply. You will know when the video card is gone though...it's called ''the checkerboard effect'' you will know what I'm talking about if you see it!
It sounds like your graphics card is dying, but not yet dead. It will certainly die if you keep playing, and probably soon. If you keep playing any console with a faulty electronic component, you are risking doing very serious damage to your other components. Call MS and have your 360 repaired ASAP. The analogy of driving a car after its engine exploded isn't quite accurate but I certainly see what the poster means. It would be better to ask ''would you keep driving your car if the transmission was making a horrible grinding noise and it didn't start every time you turned the key in the ignition?'' The answer is very obviously no. You have your car towed to a garage and you get it fixed. Your engine hasn't exploded yet, but it's going to if you keep driving.
