I just bought Oblivion for the 360, and have been experiencing frequent Disc Unreadable errors, saying it is dirty of scratched. I purchased it brand new from Best Buy, sealed completely. Is this a common, well-known problem? If so, is there a fix?If not, what should I do?Oblivion issues
Anybody?Oblivion issues
Sounds like the problem may be with your 360. Have you had your 360 in a horizontal or vertical position for a while and recently switched it? I had mine standing up vertical forever and recently switched it and it scratched my COD4 disk.
Nope, always horizontal. Every game works on it, except Oblivion, TF2, and LP:EC.
I've may have had the same problem as you have mrcong. Are you getting these errors before you actually start the game or are you getting errors during gameplay? If you have this problem occuring before the game starts, all I did was simply turn off my XBox. And then power it back up. It works well for me. I usually get ''This Disc is not readable'' when I eject a DVD out of my XBox and then put Oblivion in. Solution: just completely shut down your Xbox 360 and then turn it back on. This isn't a frequent problem; but it's not unheard of either. It does happen sometimes. Let me know if it starts working for you.Edit: Keep your oblivion disc inside when you completely shut down your xbox. That way when your xbox boots up, it'll auto-run the disc.

Well, sometimes it will DRE before playing, but most of the time its during gameplay. Thanks for the tip, though. I'll try it out and let you know what happens. Great looking game BTW, reminds me a lot of Bioshock=)
Have you tried your other games?
the issue you are having is not a ''normal'' issue with the game oblivion itself. it could be you have a corrupted disc (even new games dont work sometimes) or you 360 is having harware issues
So should I exchange it for a new disc?
So should I exchange it for a new disc?
Do that. And if it doesn't help, it's an issue with the 360 DVD player.
Ok, thanks for all the help
