I'm Getting a 360...

... on Ebay. And I have many questions. You don't have to answer them all, but at least one for each person would be appreciated. =)This pack is what I'm looking for : http://cgi.ebay.ca/Open-Box-XBOX-360-Live-2-games-cable-HDMI_W0QQitemZ150243080532QQihZ005QQcategoryZ62054QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (sorry but gamespot won't allow the link in one part :S )1. Are the graphics still good-looking without a HDTV?2. What will I need more to get on Xbox Live and play online with my firends?3. Can I get online with my 360 with a wireless router?4. Are the Red Rings still a big problem?5. Are the two games that come with it (Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance) worth 50 $ ?6. Is it safe to buy this on ebay? Thanks a lot! =)I'm Getting a 360...
1. Yes4. Kinda. It seems to be hit and miss.5. I think forza 2 is great but I hated M.U.A. Alot of people like it tho. You can buy the bundle at Gamestop used for 19.99.I'll leave the harder questions for someone else. Good luck.I'm Getting a 360...
Thanks! =) I'm waiting for someone else. And btw.. do the red rings appear soon after we start the console or 2-3 years after?
2. Xbox Live Gold

3. Yes but you'll need a wireless adapter for the 360.

6. Its never 100% safe but you should be OK.

Is the wireless adapter that thing at 100 $ ? o.o
and I'd like to give my opinion on your first question, it looks OK on a SDTV. Anyone who's saying that it looks GOOD is lieing and havn't played on a good HDTV. Games look GREAT on HDTVs
Games look OK on SDTV.
Is the wireless adapter that thing at 100 $ ? o.o
yes 70-80$

I'll admit. Ive never played on high def. I always wondered if it made that much of a difference. Guess it does.
It still looks great on an SDTV - not ''Ok'' I've played on a 42'' 1080p HDTV and it looks superb, but SD still looks better than ''ok''

The free Silver account the 360 comes with works for downloads of updates and games - but doesn't allow you to play against other people online. You will also need a wireless network adapter designed for the 360 (see next answer). You can run standard ethernet cable to the 360 instead of going wireless though - if that is an option.3) It depends on the type of wireless router - but most likely yes. You will also need to buy a wirelss network adapter for the 360 - the MS one is $100, but there are other less expensive 3rd party ones available on the net for $50 to $70.4) While the 3 red rings are still possible they are not nearly the problem as they used to be due to updated hardware used - MS has extended the warranty for RROD (3 red rings) problem to 3 years though - so don't worry about this just get your 360 and enjoy the amazing games. :)5) If you bought those 2 games brand new they would retail for about $60 for both right now (I have seen Forza for $20 and MUA for $40) - so while it is a small savings it is still a savings - so yes it's worth it.6) While these are open box - they are the newer hardware revisions as they include HDMI and are PRemium models - so you should still be covered by warranty. There is always some risk with buying off of Ebay as opposed to a local retailer - I would always suggest a local retailer if you can afford the retail price. However since these are still under warranty - I wouldn't worry too much - these look to be about as safe as you can get for a purchase off of Ebay.GET A 360 - you won't regret it. Even the rare instance where someone has gotten a 3 red rings - even those people usually don't regret getting a 360 just because there are so many amazing games to play on it. Sure it's frustrating to send it in for repair but it's worth it just to be able to keep playing the games the 360 has. Again though the chances of the 3 red rings on newer models is reletively low.HAVE FUN! :)
wow! Seriously, thanks a lot for ALL your help! It helped me so much!
I'm not a fan of ebay when it comes to buying a gaming console...it's just to much of a risk, but I agree with almost everything the other posters said. The 360 is a great buy overall...I've had mine since Geow came out and it has been working fine.
If youve never played on HDTV, the graphics will still be an upgrade from the last gen. systems. When you finally play on hi-def you will trully understand why they call it hi-def. My system made it two and a half years before i got the three rings of death.
Regarding the three year warranty, you may check into Microsoft's policy on accepting receipts from eBay. Honestly, I can't imagine they would. You could still use the warranty through this November (as the 360 was launched in Nov. '05) but beyond that you might run into trouble.

When it comes to the 3 red rings if you have a 360 - they will cover it regardless of where you got the 360 from. Also as far as the dates go - since these are Premiums with HDMI - they have only been manufactured since approximately Oct of 2007 - so the 3 years will cover until 2010 same month as manufacture.

LOLI've been gaming on all platforms far too long to choose one over another - they all have their advantages and anything that pushes the industry forward regardless of who makes it - is all good with me. :)
